Who this notice applies to

This privacy notice applies to JBrooks Fitness as a UK-based sole trader personal training business operated by Josh Brooks. It covers the website and the way personal information may be managed when anyone gets in touch about training, a consultation or session booking.

What information may be collected

If you contact JBrooks Fitness by phone or email, the information you choose to provide may include your name, contact details, preferred location, general training goals, availability and anything else you include in your message.

If you become a client, further information may be needed to deliver training safely and properly. This can include session history, attendance, payment records and any relevant health, injury or exercise-readiness information that you choose to provide.

How information may be used

Personal information may be used to:

  • reply to enquiries and arrange a consultation or training session
  • deliver personal training, partner training or group training services
  • keep basic client and payment records
  • manage scheduling, session notes and service administration
  • protect safety where relevant health or injury information is shared

Legal bases

Information may be processed because it is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract is entered into to comply with legal obligations, or for legitimate business interests such as responding to enquiries and managing bookings.

If you choose to share health or injury information, that will only be used where there is an appropriate lawful basis and, where needed, your explicit consent.

Cookies and embedded maps

The site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. However, the optional embedded Google Maps content on the locations sections may set cookies or similar technologies from Google if you choose to load the live map.

The live map embeds are disabled by default until you actively accept them. If you reject optional cookies, the site will continue to work and you can still use the direct Google Maps links instead.

Sharing and retention

Personal information is not sold. It may be shared only where reasonably needed for administration, accounting, legal compliance, or to protect rights and safety.

Information should only be kept for as long as it is genuinely needed for the purpose it was collected, and longer only where record-keeping or legal duties require it.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, the correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction, objection, or data portability.

If you have a concern about how information is handled, you can raise it directly with JBrooks Fitness first. You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

Managing your choice

You can open the cookie popup at any time by using the Cookies button in the fixed footer bar. That popup lets you enable or disable the optional embedded Google Maps content.
